On a Superquadro or V4 Panigale the valve clearances are measured and shimmed by hand. On the V4 that's sixteen valves. The 2025 V2 uses valve springs, with a check every 30,000 km.

Services follow Ducati's schedule for each model, with genuine and OEM parts and the latest Ducati diagnostic software.
Three kinds of Panigale
The Panigale arrived in 2012 as the 1199, with the Superquadro V-twin. It was the first Ducati superbike twin to drive its cams with chains and gears instead of belts, and it carried on in the 899, 1299, 959 and the 955cc Panigale V2. In 2018 the Panigale V4 moved to the 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale V4, joined in 2019 by the 998cc V4 R. For 2025 the Panigale V2 changed completely, to a new 890cc twin with valve springs instead of Desmo valves.
Each needs something different: Desmo valve services on the Superquadro and V4 engines, a simpler valve check on the new V2, and on every one of them electronics that need the right diagnostic equipment.

Panigale servicing questions
How often does a Panigale need servicing?
The Superquadro twins and the Panigale V4 have a service every 12,000 km (7,500 miles) or 12 months, and a valve clearance check every 24,000 km (15,000 miles). The 2025 Panigale V2 goes 15,000 km between services and 30,000 km between valve checks. Track use shortens intervals. Tell us your model and mileage and we'll tell you what's due.
Do Panigales have cam belts?
No. The Superquadro twins and the V4 drive their cams with chains and gears, and the 2025 V2 uses a chain. There are no belts to replace by age.
