Ducati Panigale V4 R servicing
2019 on · 998cc Desmosedici Stradale R 90° V4 · Greenwich, London
Ray Petty Meccanica services and repairs the Ducati Panigale V4 R (2019 on, including the 2023 update and the 2026 model) at its independent Ducati workshop in Greenwich, London. The R is the road-going homologation version of Ducati's World Superbike racer, with a shorter-stroke 998cc engine, and we service it to Ducati's schedule for the R rather than the standard V4's.
About the Panigale V4 R
The V4 R is the version of the Panigale V4 built to homologate Ducati's World Superbike racer. Its Desmosedici Stradale R keeps the 81mm bore but uses a shorter 48.4mm stroke for 998cc, inside Superbike rules, with four Desmodromic valves per cylinder and a limiter at 16,000rpm, or 16,500rpm in sixth. The 2019 bike had titanium conrods, a lighter crankshaft, carbon fibre wings, mechanically adjustable Öhlins suspension and an STM EVO-SBK dry clutch. The 2023 update added gun-drilled titanium conrods, DLC-coated pistons and a smaller, lighter dry clutch. For 2026 the R moved to the new-generation chassis, with a double-sided swingarm in place of the single-sided one, Brembo Hypure calipers and Euro 5+ compliance.
Servicing your Panigale V4 R
For the 2026 bike Ducati quotes a service every 7,500 miles or 12 months. The Desmo service and the other intervals follow Ducati's schedule for the R, and we'll check what's due against your bike's year and mileage. The engine has sixteen Desmodromic valves, titanium intake valves and titanium conrods, so we use genuine Ducati parts in it. On the earlier bikes with a dry clutch, plate and basket wear is part of every check. The Öhlins suspension is mechanically adjustable rather than semi-active, but the rider aids are still read and set with the latest Ducati diagnostic software, and we call you before doing anything beyond the agreed work.
