Ducati XDiavel V4 servicing

Ray Petty Meccanica services and repairs the Ducati XDiavel V4 (2025 on), including the limited XDiavel V4 100, at its independent Ducati workshop in Greenwich, London. With chain-driven cams and a 60,000 km valve check, most of its servicing is oil, chain and electronics, and RPM handles all of it.

About the XDiavel V4

The XDiavel V4 was revealed in February 2025 and reached dealers that May, replacing the 1,262cc V-twin XDiavel. It shares the Diavel V4's 1,158cc V4 Granturismo engine, with a claimed 168hp, valve springs instead of Desmo and a rear bank that shuts off at a standstill and at low load. The changes go well beyond the engine: an aluminium monocoque frame replaces the steel trellis, a chain replaces the old belt final drive, and suspension travel grows by 25mm at each end. Compared with the Diavel V4 it has a 27mm longer wheelbase, forward-mounted footpegs, a 20mm lower seat and a larger pillion seat. The XDiavel V4 100 is a limited edition from Ducati's centenary Collezione 100 series.

Servicing your XDiavel V4

Ducati quotes an oil change every 15,000 km or two years and a valve clearance check every 60,000 km, so major engine work comes round far less often than on the old twin. The cams are chain-driven, so there are no cam belts. The switch from a belt to a chain final drive means the drive chain needs regular cleaning, lubrication and adjustment, and RPM fits DID chains when it is time for a new one. Cornering ABS, traction and wheelie control, launch control and the quickshifter are all electronically managed, and RPM checks them with the latest Ducati diagnostic software. As the official London dealer for Rizoma parts, RPM can also fit Rizoma upgrades if you want to personalise the bike.
