2018 to 2025 · 1,079cc air-cooled two-valve Desmo V-twin · Greenwich, London

Ray Petty Meccanica services and repairs the Ducati Scrambler 1100, 1100 Special, Sport, Pro, Sport Pro, Dark Pro and Tribute Pro (2018 to 2025) at its independent Ducati workshop in Greenwich, London. The big air-cooled Desmo twin needs its valves checked every 12,000 km and its cam belts changed on time, and we keep both on schedule.

About the Scrambler 1100

Revealed at EICMA 2017 and sold from 2018, the Scrambler 1100 is a bigger, better-equipped Scrambler rather than an 800 with a larger engine. It has its own larger frame and longer wheelbase, a 1,079cc air-cooled two-valve Desmo twin making a claimed 86hp, a 45 mm fully adjustable Marzocchi fork and twin 320 mm front discs, plus traction control and three riding modes that the original Scramblers lacked. The 1100 Sport had Öhlins suspension. For 2020 the Pro and Sport Pro arrived with Euro 5 engines and a twin-outlet exhaust on the right, followed by the matt black Dark Pro in 2021 and, for 2022, the Tribute Pro in Giallo Ocra paint, marking 50 years of Ducati's air-cooled twin.

Servicing your Scrambler 1100

Ducati's schedule for the 1100 is an oil service every 12 months, a Desmo service with the valve clearances checked every 12,000 km (7,500 miles), and new toothed cam belts every 24,000 km or 60 months, whichever comes first. Being air-cooled, it has no coolant to change, but the two-valve heads need both the opening and closing clearances measured and set at each Desmo service. The traction control and ABS are checked with Ducati diagnostic software. We fit genuine Ducati parts, and as the official London dealer for Rizoma, we can fit Rizoma parts while the bike is with us.
