Ducati Multistrada 950 servicing
2017 to 2021 · 937cc Testastretta 11° V-twin · Greenwich, London
Ray Petty Meccanica services and repairs the Ducati Multistrada 950 and 950 S (2017 to 2021) at its independent Ducati workshop in Greenwich, London. The smallest Multistrada of its day runs a belt-driven Testastretta 11° twin, and we take care of the belts, the 30,000 km Desmo service and the semi-active suspension on the S.
About the Multistrada 950
Revealed at EICMA in late 2016 for the 2017 season, the 950 was the first smaller-capacity Multistrada and the way into the family below the 1200 and 1260. It uses the 937cc liquid-cooled Testastretta 11° twin with four Desmo valves per cylinder, rated at a claimed 113hp, in a tubular steel trellis frame with a cast aluminium double-sided swingarm and a 19-inch front wheel. The 950 S arrived for 2019 with electronic semi-active suspension, an IMU for the rider aids, a colour TFT dash and an LED headlight. For 2022 Ducati updated the bike, trimmed its weight and renamed it the Multistrada V2.
Servicing your Multistrada 950
Ducati quoted a maintenance interval of 15,000 km (9,000 miles) or 12 months for the 950, with the valve clearance inspection at 30,000 km (18,000 miles). The 937cc engine drives its cams with toothed belts, and these have to be changed after a set number of years even when the mileage is low, so a 950 that has spent most of its life in a garage may still be due them. On the 950 S, the semi-active suspension and the IMU-based rider aids are checked with the latest Ducati diagnostic software as part of the service, and the chain, brakes and wheel bearings are checked too. If you are looking at a used 950, we can inspect it before you buy.
