Ducati Monster 937 servicing

2021 to 2025 · 937cc Testastretta 11° liquid-cooled V-twin · Greenwich, London

Front brake discs, fork and yellow mudguard on a Ducati

Ray Petty Meccanica services and repairs the 937cc Ducati Monster of 2021 to 2025, including the Monster+, Monster SP and the limited editions, at its independent Ducati workshop in Greenwich, London. It was the last Monster with a Desmo engine and cam belts, and RPM services it with the latest Ducati diagnostic software and genuine Ducati parts.

About the Monster 937

The fourth-generation Monster arrived for 2021 and took over from both the 797 and the 821. It was the first Monster without a steel trellis frame: a short aluminium front frame bolts to the cylinder heads, as on the Panigale V4, with a glass fibre reinforced polymer subframe, and Ducati quoted 166kg dry. The 937cc Testastretta 11° made a claimed 111hp, and cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, launch control and an up and down quickshifter came as standard. The Monster+ added a fly screen and pillion seat cover. The SP of 2023 brought Öhlins suspension, Brembo Stylema calipers, a Termignoni silencer, a steering damper and a lithium battery. The numbered 30° Anniversario and the Monster Senna, limited to 341 bikes, followed.

Servicing your Monster 937

Ducati's figures for this generation are an oil service every 15,000 km (9,000 miles) and a Desmo valve clearance check every 30,000 km (18,000 miles). The engine still drives its cams with toothed belts, and those are replaced by age as well as distance, so a Monster that only comes out in summer still needs its belts on time; our cam belt guide explains. With ride-by-wire, cornering ABS and a quickshifter, fault-finding needs Ducati's diagnostic software, which we have in its latest version. As the official London dealer for Rizoma we can also supply and fit Rizoma parts, and we fit Brembo and other Italian parts if you want to upgrade a standard Monster or Monster+.
